PCDR Successfully Conducted CBDM Training of Trainers
Last January 13-17, 2023, Panay Center for Disaster Response, Inc. (PCDR), with technical support from the Citizens’ Disaster Response Center (CDRC), successfully conducted its Community-Based Disaster Management (CBDM) Training of Trainers. Participants came from different People’s Organizations and formations representing the youth, women, church people, urban poor, peasant, and fisherfolk sectors from all over Western Visayas.
During the said activity, participants were taught the technical knowledge and the basic concepts in relation to CBDM. Moreover, participants were also taught how to facilitate the conduct of different workshops that will help communities assess their hazards, vulnerabilities, capacities, risks, and so on.
The activity aims to train instructors who can lead in conducting CBDM Trainings and Workshops in their respective provinces and areas.
The activity is part of PCDR’s project, Mainstreaming CBDM in Western Visayas, supported by the Johanniter International Assistance and Aktion Deutschland Hilft. The project aims to strengthen and enhance the capacities of the people in Western Visayas toward more resilient communities.//
Congratulations to the new sets of trainors from your CDRC family!
