PCDR attends Panay Environment Summit 2024

ILOILO, PHILIPPINES – Yesterday, Panay Center for Disaster Response, Inc., attended the Panay Environment Summit 2024 along with other environmental groups and advocates. This activity celebrates the annual Earth Day and is seen by PCDR as an integral part of their work as a disaster response social welfare agency.

During the summit, PCDR’s work as a non-government organization in disaster response and reduction was importantly linked to the rapidly changing environment due to climate change. Moreover, the speakers at the summit also tackled the vulnerabilities of the people to human-induced disasters like mining and development aggressions. All of these point out that there are still gaps PCDR as an NGO will necessarily fill moving forward, a commitment PCDR will continue to fulfill.

With this, PCDR will remain steadfast in continuing to “helping communities help themselves”.
